PMI–AGC participants attended a site visit to Qatar Foundation on the 14th of December 2009, organized by PMI-AGC, where PMI members had the chance to be introduced to Qatar Foundation site, mission, vision, programs, services, universities, Research centers, etc.

Mr. Abdulrahman and Mr. Vijay Nagar greet the PMI Members with welcome note and gifts. The event was initiated by a one hour presentation conducted in George Town university by Robert Baxter. It mainly highlighted how Qatar Foundation is seeking to reach out to individual sectors of the community and addressing social issues to accelerate the human development process in numerous directions. These sectors include Education, Science and research and Community development.

Education sector committing immense resources to bring knowledge to the people of Qatar and the region, thereby helping to build a skilled human capital base. It covers institutions from early years to university education at undergraduate level and beyond.

Science and Research sector which aims to build Qatar's innovation and technology capacity, and are uncovering solutions to national challenges in health, climate change, clean energy and other fields.

Community Development and the role of Qatar foundation to enhance lives by identifying and meeting immediate needs and opportunities, and by addressing factors that impede human development.

The presentation was then followed by a tour over the education City, concluded by another tour at the Recreation center which provides different facilities and services to QF staff seeking a better working environment.

PMI members were impressed to know about the high –level and world class programs and services provided by Qatar Foundation and their continuous efforts exerted towards making a knowledge-base society a reality.
